Eos Chapstick Recall - chapstickThe Balm of EOS Remember: My Opinion Behind the EOS Lip Balm Rash and EOS Lip Balm Reaction According to several sources, it can cause an eruption and an allergic reaction. In fact, a woman is against the brand with claims that the lipid gave her a serious reaction to the skin. The plaintiff, Rachael Cronin, said he bought an EOS lipstick from Target, applied it, and felt his lips become even more dry, according to TMZ. After continuing to spin the balm of lips, he experienced the blistering, cracked and tears that he says he took 10 days to completely clarify. But how could he be causing the reaction? Here are my own thoughts on the situation: How most organic and natural products are moved using parabens Let's see the list of ingredients for a typical in Moisturizing Mint:Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil*, Beeswax (Cire D'abeille)*, Cocos Nucifera (Cococout) Oil*, Simmondsia Pinensis (Jojoba) **Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil*. Although it is unpopular to say it right now, I think parabens are the most effective condom system in skin care and cosmetics today. they are not in the care of the skin and cosmetic products because the manufacturers are cheap, negligent, or trying to hurt them. In fact, I think it is the only effective protection against most bacterial species, due largely to their ability to interfere with the metabolic pathways of bacteria in a manner similar to many antibiotics (, 2005). To overcome the controversy surrounding parabens as phytoestrogens, many manufacturers have begun to use organic acids as preservatives. However, as a study shows, the following organic acids have been found to be effective against fungi, NOT many types of bacteria ():The reason these organic acids fight fungi and not bacteria is because they interact only with the cell walls of microorganisms. Some bacteria, like Mycoplasma, don't even have a cellular wall! To protect products, many cosmetics companies include ingredients such as phenoxyetanol, benzyl alcohol and chloroacetamide to improve their effectiveness against bacteria, but the combination of these ingredients with organic acids does not seem to be as effective as parabens, either (). EOS Lip Balm Contains No Parabens, Organic Acids or Other Preservatives From the list of ingredients, EOS seems to use limousine and linalool as the only condom system. I've been saying it at FutureDerm: I don't think this is enough! While EOS and many organic/natural companies have their hearts in the right place, it is my opinion that you may be putting in more risk without chemical preservatives. It is true that cosmetic and skin care products should be subjected to extensive antimicrobial tests before being sold in the United States and have a typical life of two-year shelf. However, minimal regulatory tests do not include conditions in which bacteria-covered fingers are repeatedly laid in your bare balm pot, or by storing the bare balm pot filled with bacteria and fungi in a hot and humid place (as if you could leave your baroque balm in your car in the months of hot and humid summer), or if you share the balm with others. Try to leave your organic/natural products (without chemical preservatives) open in the shower for a few days! I left the lid of a paraben-free shampoo open once for a few days by accident, and I found that it gave me a significant front acne. When I looked into the bottle, it was absolutely unpleasant. Again, although the tests of cosmetics and standard skin care cover bacterial and fungal growth for products with chemical preservative systems, I fear it may not be enough for typical use. The issue is NOT Vitamin E or BeeswaxOther experts claim that the problem with the lip balm EOS may be the inclusion of vitamin E or beeswax wax (). Although I agree that natural ingredients do not have to be purified as synthetic ingredients and can certainly trigger allergies, I do not agree that vitamin E or bee wax is the likely problem here. There are many quality skin care products that have been on the market for decades with high concentrations of vitamin E and wax that have never caused problems, such as Skinceuticals CE Ferúlic (with 1% purified vitamin E) and Jergen's All-Purpose Face Cream (with close to as much wax as EOS lipstick). Bottom Line In the search for safer products for us and our families, I fear that the pendulum has done much differently. I personally believe that some natural and organic products do not contain suitable preservative systems to cover the entire range of bacteria and fungi that can grow under certain conditions imposed by users. Like the dermatologist trained by Stanford, Dr. Kathy Fields, M.D. of ProActiv and Rodan+Fields, once he told me, "The benefit of the superior call is to give good information evident to tell what is real and what is a lie; to help the consumer. It is so overwhelming, and there is also so much policy involved in some of the ingredients. Unfortunately a lot of misinformation is wrong. No one wants cancer of a cosmetic, as in the case of rumors about . By the way, you see it everywhere. Did you know you ate a spoonful of? Parabens are naturally found in the blueberries!" It's a shame, but I agree with what I've said over and over at FutureDerm: I think it's no safer to go without proven preservatives, unless I use the entire product bottle within a short period of time. Whether it supports the use of parabens, organic acids plus phenoxyethanol/chlorracetamide, or another condom system as a whole, I hope that this controversy will inspire natural and organic skin care companies to start by including amounts of chemical preservatives that are effective against a wider variety of limusne/linalool bacteria and fungi just to help keep consumers safe. The people of the reason for health are demanding EOS Lip BalmAll the world of , we balm them of spherical lips that come in a variety of beautiful colors. The product is known to be. But a Tuesday in California states that "a substantial number of consumers" have experienced adverse reactions to the product, including "rashes, dryness, bleeding, blisters, cracks and loss of pigmentation, which last for a few days, a few months, [leaving] some consumers with lasting and perhaps permanent symptoms." The suit wants the company to include a warning about its packaging, as well as the damages of those who have been affected. According to the suit's plaintiff, Rachel Cronan, a resident in Los Angeles, EOS's lipstick made her come out in "boils and blisters on and around her lips that require medical attention." (Photos of Cronan's reaction are below.), a dermatologist in San Francisco, told The Huffington Post that Cronan's photos seem to be allergic contact dermatitis and may be , listed as and may cause irritation in people who are allergic. "The main things that need to be avoided," he said of lipstick purchases, "they are things with perfumes and fragrance, vitamin E," as well as bees wax. It is not yet clear how many people will join the class action suit, which claims breach of warranty among other charges, but a recent look at the shows that many consumers complain of "allergic reactions" to balm, as well as complaints from customers who discover the mold in the center of the sphere. The company is quick to respond to most of these complaints, directing customers to send them directly with their "individual experiences so we can.", a dermatologist in New Orleans, told HuffPost that although he does not know what is causing EOS reactions, many of his patients are allergic to natural oils (i.e. coconut, jojoba, etc.) or beeswax. "As we can be allergic to natural fruits and plants," he said, "we can be allergic to their oils when they are applied topically." She recommends products with as few ingredients as possible, such as petrol jelly or Aquaphor. As for the demand, the company responded that its products are "safe to use" and on Wednesday that "they claim to be without merit". "The health and well-being of our customers is our top priority and millions of satisfied customers use our products every day, many of which take the time to share their experiences with us," EOS spokesman Nancy Chan told The Huffington Post.
